LUCKNOW, Sept. 27 -- Five boys were rescued from suspected human trafficking while being taken from Bihar to Gujarat on a train, with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) arresting a 25-year-old man in connection with the case, according to an officail release of the RPF on Saturday. The minors, whose exact age group could not be ascertained, were spotted during a checking drive aboard train number 15568 between Ayodhya Cantt and Lucknow on September 24. The AHTU team found the five boys travelling in coach S-5 and questioned them after their presence raised suspicion. According to railway officials, the boys told the team that they had been taken from Katihar in Bihar and were being transported to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to work there. The person accompanying them was identified as Jahangir Alam, 25, a resident of Malda district in West Bengal. During questioning, he reportedly told the team that the children's parents had been offered advance payments and the promise of higher wages for their children.
