Lucknow, Sept. 13 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) will conduct the first level checking (FLC) process of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and VVPATs for 33 districts in Lucknow on September 14 (Monday). "In compliance with the Election Commission of India's directives, the first level checking process of electronic voting machines and VVPATs will be conducted in a quality, transparent, and consistent manner in accordance with the prescribed standards for the upcoming assembly general elections," UP chief electoral officer Navdeep Rinwa said on Saturday. Representatives of political parties will be informed of each stage of the first level checking process in the districts, and their feedback will be taken into account, he said. One-day training workshops are being organised for district election officers, sub-district election officers, and first level checking supervisors to provide them with detailed information on technical and administrative processes related to first level checking, he said. District election officers, deputy district election officers/first level checking supervisors from 33 districts will participate in the training workshop at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Training and Management Academy, Lucknow, on September 14. These 33 districts include Ayodhya, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Amethi, Gonda, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti, Lucknow, Hardoi, Kheri, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Unnao, Kanpur Nagar, Auraiya, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Moradabad, Bijnor, Amroha, Rampur, Sambhal, Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Jalaun and Lalitpur. District election officers of Lucknow, Kanpur, Moradabad, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya and Devipatan divisions will be involved in the training.
