LUCKNOW, Oct. 31 -- A fire broke out at a private four-wheeler workshop on Kalyanpur Ring Road in the state capital on Thursday afternoon, destroying two vehicles and materials stored inside. No casualties were reported, fire department officials said. According to a statement from the fire department, the Indira Nagar fire control room received information about the blaze at around 2:20 pm. Acting promptly, the chief fire officer directed the Indira Nagar fire station to dispatch two fire tenders with staff and equipment. On arrival, firefighters found the tin-shed garage engulfed in intense flames. As the fire intensified, four more fire tenders were called to assist. Under the supervision of the in-charge fire officer, teams worked continuously for nearly three hours to douse it. Firefighters broke through the rear wall of the garage to stop the flames from spreading to an adjacent unit. The garage, owned by Ashwani Kumar Verma, suffered extensive damage. Both cars parked inside were completely burnt, along with other materials stored at the site.
