VARANASI, April 12 -- An FIR was registered on Saturday at Varanasi 's Bhelupur police station in connection with an alleged death threat issued to Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati over phone on April 8, police said. The complaint was lodged by the seer's disciple, Paramatmanand, who alleged that an unidentified caller threatened to shoot him, similar to the killing of Atiq Ahmed. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under sections 351(4) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), officials said.
