FIR registered after family 'assaulted' at CNG station over queue dispute
LUCKNOW, May 10 -- Police have registered an FIR in connection with the alleged assault on a family at a CNG filling station in Madiaon following a dispute over queue jumping during refuelling late on Friday night, officials said on Saturday.
According to the complaint lodged by Anupam Jain, a resident of Maharaja Agrasen Nagar on Sitapur Road, the incident occurred around 11:30 pm on Friday when he had gone to refill CNG in his car along with his sister, Priya Jain, and brother-in-law, Rishabh Agrawal.
The complainant alleged that occupants of a vehicle forcibly broke the queue and parked ahead of his car at the filling station.
When he objected, several unidentified persons allegedly got out of the vehicle and started arguing with him.
Anupam Jain alleged that the accused appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and soon turned violent. He further alleged that the group assaulted him, his sister and his brother-in-law, causing injuries to all three.
The complainant also alleged that the accused threatened the family with dire consequences before fleeing the spot.
Police said a case has been registered at Madiaon police station based on the written complaint and an investigation has been initiated.
CCTV footage from the CNG station is also being examined to identify the accused.
