Lucknow, July 12 -- The Hazratganj police have registered an FIR against a man for allegedly posting an objectionable comment on a Facebook post by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office bearer. The matter is being investigated with the cyber cell's assistance. According to the complaint, the BJP office bearer, who serves as a regional vice-president and is a resident of Indira Nagar, had uploaded a photograph on her Facebook account following her meeting with BJP national president Nitin Nabin during his visit to Lucknow on July 5. She alleged that a Facebook user, identified as Prabhas Yadav, posted an abusive and objectionable comment on the photograph. After noticing the comment, she checked the user's Facebook profile, which reportedly indicated he was based in Lucknow. The complainant subsequently approached Hazratganj police and sought legal action against the accused. Hazratganj station house officer Vikram Singh said an FIR has been registered based on the complaint. He said the cyber cell is examining the electronic evidence and verifying the accused's identity.
