KANPUR, May 22 -- An FIR lodged on Thursday against Dr Aradhya Nagaich and around 40 junior and senior doctors, based on a complaint by a patient's family triggered tension at the government medical college in Jalaun. The case relates to a midnight dispute over treatment on May 18, 2026 involving Smriti Gupta, daughter of BJP leader Braj Kishor Gupta. An argument broke out between her family and on-duty doctors, followed by allegations of assault. District magistrate Rajesh Kumar Pandey intervened following the dharna, after which junior doctors suspended their protest.
