Finance dept issues circular on budget utilisation
LUCKNOW, April 4 -- The Uttar Pradesh finance department has issued an official order directing all departments to ensure timely and structured utilisation of funds approved in the Budget-2026-27. The move aims to streamline fund disbursal and improve financial discipline across departments.
According to the order, the release of funds will follow a graded installment system based on the size of the allocation. "In cases where the budgetary allocation is up to Rs 1crore, the funds would be released in two installments. In cases where the budgetary allocation exceeds Rs 1 crore and up to Rs 4 crore, the funds would be released in three installments at intervals of four months each.
Where budgetary allocation exceeds Rs 4 crore, the funds would be released in four equal installments at intervals of three months each," said the order.
Uttar Pradesh passed the budget of Rs 9.12 lakh crore in February for the fiscal year. For new construction work up to Rs 5 crore, the entire amount in such cases will be released by the administrative department only after it is satisfied with the quality of the work.
If the cost of a new construction work exceeds Rs 5 crore per project, financial sanctions for new construction works will be released with the concurrence of the finance department. htc...
