Festivities begin, Jhoola Vihar to be held at Ayodhya's Maniparvat
Ayodhya, Aug. 15 -- The Sawan Jhoola Mela, considered the Mahakumbh of devotees in Ayodhya, is beginning from Saturday. The first day of this fair - to be held from August 15 to 28 - will be celebrated at Maniparvat, where the Jhoola Vihar of Ram-Sita will be held. Eleven tableaux from various temples of Ayodhya will proceed to Maniparvat.
The entire Maniparvat area has been divided into six zones and 29 sectors. SP City Chakrapani Tripathi said that deployment is being made "as per the requirement of police force. Adequate staff, from additional superintendent of police to constables, including women personnel, has been deployed. PAC, RAF, ATS commandos and SDRF teams will also be available. Drone cameras will also keep watch on Maniparvat."
Though there are more than 5,000 small and big temples in Ayodhya, splendour of this festival will be worth seeing in prominent temples such as Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Kanak Bhawan, Raja Dashrath Ji ke Mahal, Asharfi Bhawan, Ram Vallabha Kunj, Divya Kala Kunj, Viahuti Bhawan, Rang Mahal, Janaki Mahal, Raj Sadan, Roop Kala Kunj and Maniram Das Ji ki Chhavani.
SSP Gaurav Grover said that the Saawan Jhoola Mela is a symbol of the faith of devotees.
