Bahraich, Aug. 1 -- Forest Department officials safely rescued a young female leopard early Friday. The leopard had been repeatedly entering Devanpura village under the Kakraha Range of Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary and preying on livestock. Acting on repeated reports, officials installed a cage with a goat as bait. The leopard entered the trap around 4 a.m. and was captured without injury. Veterinary officer Dr. Deepak Verma confirmed the two-to-three-year-old leopard was healthy. DFO Apoorv Dixit said the animal will be released into a suitable forest habitat as per NTCA guidelines and urged villagers to report wildlife sightings promptly....
