Farmer registry is key to delivering scheme benefits, says CM yogi
LUCKNOW, April 7 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said the proposed farmer registry will serve as the backbone for ensuring that benefits of government schemes reached cultivators in a smooth, transparent and time-bound manner and directed officials to complete the exercise across the state in a mission mode.
Chairing a review meeting, the CM instructed that the farmer registry be integrated with all agriculture and allied departmental schemes so that registered farmers receive priority access to wheat procurement, as well as purchase of pulses and oilseeds, besides benefits related to seeds, fertilisers, crop protection chemicals and farm machinery.
He asked officials to accelerate the registration process in all districts by running a focused campaign and to organise special camps at the gram panchayat level to onboard farmers and resolve their issues on the spot. Departments, including revenue and agriculture, have been told to work in close coordination to ensure speedy implementation.
Emphasising inclusivity, Adityanath said farmers of all landholding sizes must be encouraged to enrol so they could avail maximum benefits of government schemes. He also directed authorities to launch an extensive awareness drive to ensure that every eligible farmer is linked to the registry.
