Faridabad bizman shot dead in front ofwife, child in Farrukhabad
KANPUR, July 27 -- A 30-year-old businessman from Faridabad was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Farrukhabad district on Sunday evening while returning home from Varanasi with his family, police said.
Arun Hudda had left his home two to three days ago for darshan in Varanasi and was travelling back via the Ganga Expressway. Farrukhabad superintendent of police Arti Singh said he had taken the Farrukhabad route towards Agra.
According to the police, Hudda had stopped at a local shop to buy some items near the expressway when two masked men arrived in an unnumbered four-wheeler and opened fire. He was shot in the head in front of his wife and two-year-old child while he was buying soft drinks for them. He died at the scene.
Singh said investigators were also examining whether Hudda had been under surveillance before the attack, adding that the possibility could not be ruled out.
"The investigation is underway from all angles. The case will be uncovered soon," she said. The incident was reported to the Police Response Vehicle (PRV) 112 at around 9.45 pm within the jurisdiction of Kagli Gate police station.
Police are yet to identify the attackers or establish the motive behind the killing. No arrests were made at the time of filing this report....
