PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 8 -- The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) lodged a police complaint after a fake notification regarding the recruitment of 11,508 assistant teachers in government-run primary schools circulated on social media ahead of the recruitment process. The forged document, issued on the letterhead of a fictitious "Uttar Pradesh New Education Service Selection Commission" instead of the UPESSC, falsely claimed that the academic merit criterion had been scrapped.
