Lucknow, May 17 -- A special drone training programme for ex-servicemen is being conducted at Lucknow Cantonment from May 11 to May 17 to improve technology-based security capabilities and create new employment opportunities for retired armed forces personnel. According to officials, the week-long programme will conclude on Sunday and is being organised on the initiative of the directorate general of EME. The EME depot Battalion screened and shortlisted suitable ex-servicemen from different technical trades for the training programme. Officials said Uttar Pradesh Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Limited (UPPSKNL) has also joined the initiative to help provide placement opportunities for trained candidates. A total of 31 ex-servicemen from the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers are taking part in the seven-day course.
