PRAYAGRAJ, May 5 -- Puran Chandra Joshi, 79, husband of former Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi passed away at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, on Monday. He had suffered a brain haemorrhage at his residence in Lucknow on April 28 and was admitted to the hospital where he later slipped into a coma. A retired engineer from TSL, Naini, PC Joshi is survived by his wife, son Mayank Joshi and daughter-in-law Richa Joshi. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath and deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak have expressed their condolences. Former MP Rewati Raman Singh described Joshi as a calm and gentle person, while Congress MP Ujjawal Raman Singh termed his demise an irreparable loss. Joshi's mortal remains were brought to Prayagraj in the afternoon and kept at his Minto Road residence, where a large number of people paid their last respects to the departed soul. His last rites will be performed at Daraganj Ghat on Tuesday afternoon....
