Haridwar, June 26 -- A case has been registered at Laksar police station against former legislator and BJP leader Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion following a complaint alleging the use of abusive language, caste-based derogatory remarks and criminal intimidation, police said. According to the complaint filed by Jogendra Kumar, a resident of Shantarshah in Laksar, the incident occurred on the night of June 22 when he and his brother-in-law Sanjeev Singh were returning home from a wedding in Khedi. Kumar alleged that a speeding car attempted to overtake their vehicle and one of the occupants struck their vehicle's doors. The complainant alleged that the vehicle was later identified belonging to Champion. When Singh contacted Champion over the phone regarding the incident, the former legislator allegedly used caste-based derogatory language and threatened both men with dire consequences. Police registered a case on Wednesday based on the complaint. Denying the allegations, Champion said, "It is clear that my opponents are trying to malign my image. The audio recording is fake and has been generated using artificial intelligence tools to create an impression that it is my voice. In fact, they were driving rashly and dangerously attempted to overtake my vehicle. Meanwhile, a cross-complaint was filed on Thursday from Champion's side against five persons, including Jogendra Kumar and Sanjeev Singh, alleging rash driving, use of abusive language and criminal intimidation....
