LUCKNOW, July 8 -- Tej Narayan Pandey aka Pawan Pandey, Samajwadi Party leader and former Ayodhya MLA, claimed receiving a WhatsApp call on Monday evening from an unknown international number in which the caller allegedly threatened to kill him and his family saying Pandey had been speaking too much lately. On Tuesday, an SP worker Rajiv Kumar Tiwari lodged a formal complaint in this regard at Ayodhya Kotwali in which a request for providing secu-rity to Pandey has also been made. Of late, the SP leader has been in news for demanding a probe into the alleged embezzlement of donations at Ayodhya's Ram temple and land deals made by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust while acquiring nearby land for the temple. Speaking to HT over the phone from Ayodhya, Pandey claimed, "I received a WhatsApp call from an unknown international number and as soon as I answered, the voice on the other side threatened to kill me and my family. When I asked the reason for the threat, the voice said I have been speaking too much lately." "I think it is due to the recent issue where I spoke about the temple donation row. I think some people didn't like it," the SP leader said. Tej Narayan Pandey was a Samajwadi Party MLA from 2012 to 2017. He also served as a minister of state in the Samajwadi Party regime during that period. htc...
