LUCKNOW, Oct. 9 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has arrested a Mumbai-based man in connection with the alleged misappropriation of over Rs.7 crore related to a documentary project meant to capture the scale and significance of Maha Kumbh 2025. He was accused of being part of a six-member conspiracy involving forged bills, fabricated agreements, extortion and the alleged theft of more than 50 terabytes of footage, an EOW press note said on Thursday. Indrajeet, a Mumbai resident, was arrested from the Versova area on October 6 after allegedly remaining absconding since the case was registered, the EOW said. The agency alleged that the accused and his associates were involved in misappropriating more than Rs.7 crore in connection with the documentary project. According to the investigation, Puneet Sikka, director of IQ, entered into an agreement with INK Pictures and Mcode Ventures LLP on January 2, 2025, to produce a documentary on Maha Kumbh 2025. htc...
