Ensure prompt assessment of crop damage: CM to officers
LUCKNOW, March 21 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed officers to carry out prompt assessment of crop damage due to unseasonal rainfall and delivery of relief in various districts.
All district magistrates should visit the field to assess the situation and ensure immediate evaluation of crop damage in affected areas. The work should not remain limited to paper but must be based on the actual ground situation so that farmers receive accurate and timely assistance, he said.
The CM instructed the relief commissioner to maintain direct contact and coordination with officers posted in the field. All information should be collected in a timely manner and made available to the government so that there is no delay in relief operations, he said
As soon as the assessment of crop damage is received at the district headquarters, the process of compensation distribution should begin immediately. The payment system should remain transparent and time-bound so that affected farmers receive relief at the earliest, he added.
"The state government stands firmly with farmers. During disaster, all possible assistance will be provided to them. Officers have been instructed to work with sensitivity and ensure that no farmer faces any unnecessary difficulty," said Adityanath....
