Ensure better hostel facilities, job-oriented courses: Guv
LUCKNOW, May 19 -- Uttar Pradesh governor and chancellor of state universities, Anandiben Patel, on Monday, issued strict directives to improve the academic and administrative arrangements of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (BSV).
During a review meeting at Jan Bhavan, she said hostels must have all essential basic amenities, including washing machines, to provide a conducive environment for students.
The governor emphasised that the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed with various institutions should not remain confined to paper, but must be implemented effectively.
Focusing on skill development for the youth, the governor directed the university to introduce short-term certificate courses in music and other performing arts.
She also instructed that certificates be awarded for summer hobby workshops to enhance employment opportunities for students. Furthermore, the governor stressed the need for systematic documentation of the achievements of both teachers and students and encouraged faculty members to engage in book writing.
Discussing administrative reforms, Patel emphasised promptly filling vacant posts, creating an alumni database and strengthening the Internal Quality Assurance Cell for National Assessment and Accreditation Council accreditation.
