VARANASI, Sept. 27 -- The department of economics at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) officially commenced its two-day "Energy Conclave 2026" on Friday. The event, themed "Powering the Future: Energy Security, Economics, Resilience and Sustainable Transition in a Changing World," serves as a platform for academicians, researchers, industry experts, and policymakers to address the evolving challenges within the global energy sector. The programme was presided over by BHU vice-chancellor Professor Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi. The session featured several distinguished guests, including guest of honour Professor Amit Patra, director of IIT (BHU); chief guest Dr Vijay Kumar, and keynote speaker Professor Vinish Kumar Kathuria from IIT Bombay.
