LUCKNOW, July 24 -- Paying tribute to one of Hindi literature's most influential poets, the UP government has approved the conversion of noted poet Dushyant Kumar's ancestral home in Najibabad into a museum, public library and cultural centre. The project, reviewed on Thursday as part of the state's 2026-27 tourism and culture action plan, aims to preserve the poet's literary legacy while promoting Najibabad as a destination for literary tourism. Once completed, the ancestral residence will serve as a museum showcasing Kumar's life and works, besides housing a public library and an auditorium for literary events. The initiative is expected to provide readers, researchers and literature enthusiasts with a dedicated space to engage with the celebrated poet's contribution to modern Hindi literature. Besides the Dushyant Kumar memorial project, the government also reviewed tourism and heritage initiatives across western UP, including infrastructure upgrades at Garhmukteshwar's Ganga ghats, conservation and visitor facilities along Sambhal's historic 24 Kosi Parikrama route and development of the proposed Kanth Eco-Tourism Park. htc...
