Dehradun, Sept. 22 -- A 30-year-old man is absconding after allegedly shooting his wife dead at their rented accommodation in Dehradun's Clement Town early on Monday, police said. Investigators said the suspect, identified as Dheeraj Panwar, allegedly called a police control room at around 6am and claimed to have shot his wife. The call was traced to Clement Town's Idgah Road, where the victim, Kajal Panwar, was found lying in one of the rooms of a rented home with gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen. Dehradun senior superintendent of police (SSP) Pramendra Dobhal said the suspect's phone remained switched off since.
