Din in LMC house as BJP corporator spars with mayor
Lucknow, Sept. 10 -- High drama was witnessed during the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) house meeting on Tuesday as BJP corporator Mukesh Singh Monty, who chose to sit with Opposition members, walked out of the session following a heated exchange with mayor Sushma Kharkwal.

In protest, multiple corporators sat on a dharna inside the house, refusing to back down despite repeated attempts by the mayor. The mayor ultimately adjourned the house for 30 minutes.
The BJP corporators blamed the municipal corporation for not repairing street lights for three months. They demanded the sacking of RR department chief engineer Manoj Prabhat, who, they said, failed to prepare for the maintenance of streetlights after the EESL was removed from the work by LMC.
BJP corporator Ram Naresh Rawat said he had sent several letters to RR chief and mayor but streetlights in his area were still not lit up....
