Agra, March 16 -- Within the first fifteen days of live streaming at the famous Banke Bihari Temple, around 51 lakh devotees watched the digital darshan of Thakurji, according to the district administration. During the same period, about 45 lakh devotees also had smooth darshan while visiting the temple in person. The live streaming facility started on February 27 on the occasion of Rangbharni Ekadashi. Chandra Prakash Singh, the district magistrate of Mathura, said the initiative has created a new record. There are three main aartis performed daily at the temple. These include the early morning Shringar Aarti, the Rajbhog Aarti later in the morning, and the Shayanbhog Aarti in the evening. The aartis are now telecast live for about 10 hours every day so that devotees who cannot visit the temple can watch the darshan through social media platforms. The administration has installed five advanced cameras inside and outside the temple premises. Six large LED screens have also been set up to help manage the crowd and make the darshan easier for visitors. Officials said the new system has helped in better crowd management. Around 45.4 lakh devotees who visited the temple in the past 15 days were able to move smoothly through railings installed for queues and had hassle-free darshan. Singh said security personnel are now facing fewer incidents of pushing or chaos among devotees. The district administration believes that the initiative will also help promote religious tourism in Uttar Pradesh.
