VARANASI, July 18 -- To ensure the safety of devotees, smooth traffic management and the availability of essential amenities during the Savan month and Kanwar Yatra 2026, deputy commissioner of police (Gomti Zone) Neetu Kadyan on Friday directed all dhaba and hotel operators in the zone to prominently display information on drinking water, electricity, sanitation facilities and the prescribed rate list. Chairing a meeting with police officials, administrative officers and traders, Kadyan said all roadside eateries, including Kashi Dhaba in Mirzamurad, must provide basic facilities for devotees and ensure transparency in the rates of food items and other services. She directed that meat and fish shops should either operate at least 200 metres away from the main road or remain within village limits so that the Kanwar route remains unobstructed and in accordance with the prescribed arrangements. Traders were asked to ensure that CCTV cameras installed at their establishments remain functional and to install cameras wherever these were not already available. DJ operators were instructed to comply with prescribed noise pollution norms and furnish the driver's name and mobile number to the local police station. Kadyan also directed officials to make proper arrangements for barricading, drinking water, electricity and sanitation at major religious sites, including the Hanuman temple and Radhakrishna temple in Mirzamurad. Adequate medical facilities were ordered in areas covered by the Kachhva, Babatpur and Harhua police outposts, while medical teams will also be deployed at Harhua, Babatpur Crossing and other key locations....
