Despite W Asia crisis, PM ensured no extra burden on citizens: CM
Lucknow, May 19 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that despite 60 days of the crisis in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that "no additional burden was placed upon the citizens of the country".
This was in contrast to major global powers like the United States, he said at a conclave organised by a media house in Lucknow.
He termed the current crisis in West Asia as a "challenge" not only for the country but also the entire world.
"We thank Prime Minister Modi, who in these 60 days of crisis, has ensured that no additional burden was placed upon the citizens of the country, whereas in major global powers like the United States, which possess vast domestic resources, inflation has skyrocketed and the prices of petroleum products have increased manifold," Adityanath said.
He added that an attempt was made to control it within India.
He said the PM has called upon citizens to carpool and utilise public transportation systems to help conserve fuel, and the people of India have once again responded to the prime minister's appeal. The results of these efforts are now visible today, both on the roads and in the environment. htc...
