India, Oct. 10 -- A rich tradition of constructed, stitched and draped clothing is concentrated in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The region has witnessed the arrival of many people of varied costume traditions. While there are several studies on traditional textiles by historians, anthropologists and ethnographers, the same attention has not been given to the aspect of design. This book, which attempts to address this, is an in-depth analysis of the cultural, design-centric and technical aspects of clothes, complemented by photographs, illustrations and line drawings.
