Decline in monsoon activity over the next three days, says Met
Lucknow, July 4 -- After the monsoon's rapid advance to cover the entire region by July 2, monsoon activity is expected to slow down over the next three days, the weatherman said on Friday.
This decline is attributed to the monsoon trough shifting southward from its current position-influenced by a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal near the north Odisha coast-and the absence of other active weather systems in the state, said Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow.
Consequently, apart from rainfall in the southern region and adjacent districts, monsoon activity elsewhere will be limited, likely leading to a rise in temperatures....
