PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 25 -- Police investigating the death of the wife of a sub-inspector posted at Dhoomanganj police station in Prayagraj are examining CCTV footage, mobile phone records and forensic evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding her death by alleged suicide on the night of September 19. The post-mortem examination concluded that the woman died due to hanging and recorded no injury marks on her body. However, following allegations raised by her maternal family, investigators are examining forensic and digital evidence to ascertain the circumstances leading to her death. Police are also investigating the case registered on a complaint lodged by the deceased's family. Meanwhile, the Sub-Inspector was sent to Police Lines a day after his wife's death. The woman's father has sought preservation of the CCTV recordings as part of the investigation. While the post-mortem report states that the woman died due to hanging and that no injury marks were detected, her father has claimed that he noticed signs of injuries on her body.
