Daughter, son-in-law booked for killing man over domestic abuse
Rudrapur, June 24 -- The wife, daughter and son-in-law of an allegedly abusive 50-year-old man were booked on Tuesday for allegedly beating him to death on Saturday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Chandra Shekhar Pandey, they added.
"The deceased's father had handed over a complaint against them," said Dinesh Nath Mahant, in-charge, Danya police station.
The accused were identified as Pandey's wife Khasti Devi, his daughter Janaki Devi and her husband Dharmveer Sharma. Police said that Pandey's father's complaint alleged that he used to beat his wife while drunk.
The incident occurred in Saili village under Dhauladevi block in Almora on Saturday after Dharmveer and Janaki allegedly attacked Pandey with a lathi and a sharp-edged weapon.
