Realising the fraud, the officer filed a complaint with the cyber cell.
In another incident, head constable Gyanendra Singh, deployed at Gate No. 8 of the Vidhan Sabha for security, lost Rs.94,000 while trying to return a defective neckband purchased from Flipkart. He contacted a customer care number found on Google, where the fraudster sent him a link and asked him to install an app and enter his details. Soon after, the money was debited from his account.
