Lucknow, Sept. 6 -- A cyber-patrol operation at the Uttar Pradesh Cyber Crime Headquarters following the digital trail led to a 29-year-old woman in Firozabad, who allegedly ran a year-long trade in Child Sexual Exploitative Abuse Material (CSEAM) videos through Telegram. She has been produced before a court and sent to judicial custody. A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Pooja Mathur, a resident of Rajawali in Firozabad, was arrested around 6 pm on Friday after suspicious activity linked to her social media accounts was detected during cyber patrolling conducted under the leadership of DG cyber crime Binod Kumar Singh, officials said. Investigators allege that Mathur subscribed to paid Telegram groups, downloaded objectionable videos and then sold their links to prospective customers. While some links were allegedly offered for Rs.100-Rs.500, videos purportedly involving minors were sold for Rs.500-Rs.2,000, police said. The discovery has now triggered a wider investigation into the buyers, Telegram groups, payment trail and the original source of the videos. A senior cyber crime headquarters official said Mathur had allegedly been active on Telegram for around a year and used groups, including "Seller Hub 01", to find potential buyers. She would obtain their contact details, initiate conversations and allegedly offer them links to the videos. He said the seizure of Mathur's mobile phone has emerged as a crucial breakthrough for investigators. Police recovered a large number of videos, many of which appeared to involve minors. Investigators are now examining the material to establish the ages of those featured and trace its source. Rajawali inspector Brij Kishore Singh said the police are examining the contents as part of the investigation. Investigators have also begun following the money. Mathur allegedly used a Punjab National Bank account to receive payments through UPI. Police have obtained the account's transaction details for the past year and are matching them with her chats, Telegram activity and suspected customers. The probe is now focused on identifying people who allegedly purchased links from her and determining whether she was merely distributing material obtained from other groups or was connected to a larger network. The alleged online activity came as a shock to Mathur's family. A Class 12 pass-out and mother of a six-year-old daughter, she had been living at her parental home. Police said she was extremely protective of her mobile phone and had placed multiple locks on it, preventing even family members from accessing the device. Investigators have also traced how she allegedly entered the Telegram ecosystem. According to police, a youth working at a private doctor's clinic introduced her to the platform.
