Lucknow, July 28 -- The state on Monday cleared 24 storm water drainage projects worth Rs 1,284.01 crore to tackle urban flooding and waterlogging across 16 municipal corporations in the state. The projects were recommended by the State Level Apex Committee (SLAC) on Urban Flood/Waterlogging Control and Storm Water Drainage, which met under the chairmanship of chief secretary SP Goyal to review the action plan for the 2026-27 financial year. According to the government, the approved projects are aimed at providing a permanent, planned and integrated drainage network to address recurring urban flooding. Officials said the projects would help improve storm water management, reduce waterlogging and minimise disruptions to urban life and economic activity.
