PRAYAGRAJ, July 20 -- A teenager died and two minor brothers remained missing after three boys from the same family were swept away by the swollen Sai River near Khiribir Ghat in Pratapgarh on Sunday morning. According to police, Anurag Soni ,15, and his brother Krishna Soni ,13, residents of Achalpur under the City Kotwali police station area, left home around 9 am during the rain, reportedly to visit a nearby shop. Outside their house, they met their cousin, Amit Soni ,16, a resident of Birapur who was living in a rented house next door. The three teenagers rode a scooter to Khiribir Bridge over the Sai River, about a kilometre from their home. After reaching the riverbank through a wooded area and washing the scooter, they reportedly entered the river. Strong currents caused by continuous rainfall swept them into deeper water. People fishing on the opposite bank noticed the incident and alerted local residents and family members.
