Court rejects bail plea in salon manager suicide case
LUCKNOW, June 17 -- A district court on Tuesday rejected the bail plea of Prashant Sharma, an accused in the suicide case of 32-year-old salon manager in Gomti Nagar Extension, citing the seriousness of the allegations. District Judge Malkhan Singh passed the order.
Advocate Pranshu Agarwal appeared in court on behalf of father of the deceased and opposed the bail application.
The 32-year-old died by suicide at a flat in Shalimar One World on May 12. Before her death, she recorded a video alleging mental harassment by her employers and colleagues. Following a complaint by her father, police registered a case under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Police have arrested some of the accused, including Mangalnath Yadav, while other named accused, including salon owner Sharad Singh and his wife, are absconding. Police have announced a reward for their arrest....
