Lucknow, March 26 -- An elderly couple, Mahesh and Geeta Tiwari, were duped of Rs.12.9 lakh in Indira Nagar after Geeta received a call on March 16 and was put on a WhatsApp video call by fraudsters posing as ATS officials. The callers claimed their Aadhaar and bank accounts were linked to money laundering and terror funding, and warned them not to contact anyone. The couple were kept under video surveillance from March 16 to March 18 and threatened with arrest. Under pressure, Mahesh broke a fixed deposit and transferredRs.12.9 lakh on March 17, after which the accused cut contact. Police have registered a case and are tracing the accused.htc...
