Lucknow, April 25 -- A traffic constable was allegedly assaulted by a car driver at the Piccadilly intersection under Krishna Nagar police station limits, police said. According to the complaint, constable Hiralal was on duty managing traffic when he signalled a car coming from the Bara Birwa side to stop. The driver stepped out, slapped him and abused him, causing the constable's mobile phone to fall. The accused then parked the car diagonally on the road, disrupting traffic, and began recording a video. When the constable objected and asked him to move the vehicle, the driver allegedly tried to run the car over him. As a crowd gathered, the accused fled the spot.
