PRAYAGRAJ, June 26 -- The Congress on Thursday launched its nationwide "Chhatron Ki Goonj" campaign in Prayagraj to highlight issues affecting students and young job seekers, including examination paper leaks, alleged irregularities in recruitment and competitive exams, and rising unemployment.
Addressing a press conference at the Press Club, leader of opposition (LoP) in Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Umang Singhar, said the campaign will be organised in 28 major cities across the country between June 25 and August 9. As part of the initiative, the Congress will organise programmes such as 'Save Education, Save Youth' and 'Chhatra Satyagraha' to press for examination reforms, greater transparency, and accountability in the education system.
Singhar announced that Los Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi will visit Prayagraj to participate in the Chhatra Satyagraha and interact with students. However, the date and venue of the visit have not yet been finalised. As part of the campaign, the Congress will organise a 'Delhi Chalo' march to Parliament on August 9, while protests and demonstrations will be held at Collectorate offices in the 28 selected cities on August 1.
During the event, the party also released a campaign poster and issued a contact number for people who wish to join the movement....
