LUCKNOW, May 30 -- Public transport services in Lucknow were severely disrupted on Friday after more than 200 outsourced conductors and drivers of Lucknow City Transport Services Limited (LCTSL) went on a strike over the alleged non-payment of salaries and irregularities in the recruitment process. The protest brought operations of around 115 electric city buses to a complete halt from the Dubagga depot, affecting nearly 15,000 daily commuters across 22 routes. The protesting employees gathered at the Dubagga depot in the morning and staged a sit-in, refusing to operate buses despite reaching the depot amid rain. As a result, not a single city bus left the depot. The employees alleged that they have not received salaries for the past three months despite repeated assurances.
