Complete crop damage estimate by October 12, officials told
LUCKNOW, Oct. 7 -- Relief commissioner Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod instructed officials to assess crop damage in the state and to provide financial assistance to affected farmers in keeping with the norms, a spokesperson said.
He also instructed that data entry regarding crop damage, based on the digital crop survey, must be completed on the relief portal by October 12.
On Monday, Yashod reviewed relief and rescue operations via video conferencing with DMs and ADMs of the affected districts at Lal Bahadur Shastri Bhawan, Lucknow.
He directed that a report on the crop damage assessment be submitted to the relief commissioner's office within a week and that financial assistance be distributed to affected farmers as per regulations. He said that a digital crop survey must be conducted for crops submerged in floodwaters to ensure an accurate and transparent assessment of the damage.
Based on the report generated from the digital crop survey, eligible affected farmers should receive financial assistance for crop damage in accordance with the rules....
