Varanasi, Sept. 21 -- A man has filed a complaint against sub-divisional magistrate Shambhu Sharan, alleging that the officer assaulted him and used casteist slurs while he was visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple on February 16, 2026. The application was filed before the court of Special Judge (SC/ST) Sudhakar Rai. After hearing the matter, the court on September 9 ordered that the application be registered as a complaint and fixed November 3 for the next hearing.
