Colvin Taluqdars' celebrates its legacy with old-present boys cricket match
LUCKNOW, Dec. 22 -- Echoing with the cheers of former and current students alike, Colvin Taluqdars' College, Lucknow, hosted a friendly cricket match between the Old Boys and Present Boys on Sunday morning as part of the Old Boys' Week celebrations.
"The match stood as a proud testament to the institution's rich sporting legacy, uniting generations of Colvinians through the shared values of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship," said the principal Sachidanand Singh.
The programme began with the welcome and felicitation of chief guest Dr Shantanu Pande, senior cardiologist, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, and guest of honour Amitabh Arya from SGPGIMS, both distinguished ex-Colvinians, by principal Sachidanand Singh.
The principal said their return to the alma mater was marked by visible joy as they enjoyed witnessing the meeting of past and present students.
The event was attended by members of the College Management Committee, including secretary and manager Kr Manish Vardhan Singh, Raja Anil Pratap Singh, Vivek Seth, Rai Swareshwar Bali, Kr Dhyan Pal Singh and Vasudhendra Pratap Singh.
Anupama Singh, principal of the UP Board wing, and headmistress Sangeeta Singh Chauhan were also present.
After both teams were introduced, the Old Boys won the toss and chose to bat first. Under the captaincy of Dr Asim Tikku, they put up a strong performance.
The Old Boys won by 155 runs in 17 overs, earning praise for their disciplined play. Ritesh Tiwari was named Man of the Match, and the winning team was felicitated with mementoes. The celebrations will conclude with Darbar Day on December 23 from 2 pm onwards.
