College gatekeeper killed over Rs.1L dispute in Aligarh
Agra, March 30 -- A parking contractor was arrested on Sunday for allegedly murdering a gatekeeper at Tika Ram Degree College in Aligarh. The victim's body was found in a drain near college parking area.
According to police, the deceased, Dharmendra ,42, had earlier lent Rs.1 lakh to the contractor. He had been asking for his money back, but the contractor refused to repay the amount. Deputy SP Sarvam Singh said that the Quarsi police station received information around 11.30 am about a body found in a drain near the college.
The body was later identified as Dharmendra, who worked as a gatekeeper at the college.
Police teams examined the spot and checked CCTV footage. The body was sent for post-mortem. During investigation, and based on electronic surveillance and collected evidence, the accused, Hiresh Sharma, was arrested later the same day.
Police said Sharma had borrowed money from Dharmendra but did not want to return it. When Dharmendra demanded repayment, Sharma allegedly killed him and dumped the body in the drain to hide the crime.
