LUCKNOWs, Sept. 11 -- Chief medical officer (CMO) Dr NB Singh on Thursday visited Old Daudnagar in Faizullaganj and directed health officials to maintain round-the-clock surveillance and ensure medical services in the area amid waterlogging and mosquito menace. Essential medicines, chlorine tablets and ORS packets were distributed, while residents were counselled on preventing vector-borne diseases, according to a press release. A mobile medical unit provided healthcare services to 84 residents in Hanumanth Nagar. Officials advised residents to prevent mosquito breeding by avoiding stagnant water. The health team, comprising deputy CMO Dr Nishant Nirvan, public health specialist Dr Atul Verma, Urban CHC Aliganj superintendent Dr Hemant Kumar, along with ASHA and ANM workers, surveyed 134 households in Mama Colony. Residents were advised to use mosquito nets, wear full-sleeved clothes and avoid self-medication in case of fever.
