CM Yogi reviews preps, orders tight security for PM's visit
VARANASI, April 22 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed officials to ensure impeccable security and administrative arrangements ahead of the tentative visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Varanasi scheduled for April 28.
Arriving in Varanasi for a two-day visit, the chief minister chaired a high-level review meeting at the Circuit House with senior administrative and police officials. The meeting focused on preparedness for the Prime Minister's proposed visit, during which Adityanath issued a series of instructions to streamline arrangements.
With a women's conference scheduled during the Prime Minister's visit, the chief minister emphasised timely completion of all preparations. He instructed officials to ensure smooth transportation for attendees, along with adequate arrangements for parking, drinking water, and other essential amenities.
Stressing the importance of cleanliness, Adityanath ordered that sanitation standards be maintained across the city, not just at event venues. He also directed authorities to relocate stray dogs and cattle to designated shelters and ensure proper regulation of street vendors.
On security, the M called for foolproof measures and directed the implementation of effective traffic diversion plans to minimize inconvenience to the public.
During the meeting, divisional commissioner S Rajalingam presented a detailed overview of projects slated for inauguration and foundation-laying by the Prime Minister. Reviewing key infrastructure works, the CM instructed officials to expedite the Ropeway Project and accelerate construction of the International Cricket Stadium at Ganjari. Officials informed that the stadium is expected to be completed by the first week of July.
Adityanath also directed that road-widening works at Manikarnika Ghat and Dalmandi be fast-tracked while maintaining quality standards.
The meeting was attended by several ministers, public representatives, and senior officials from administrative and police departments, along with representatives of various organisations.
Following this, the CM also offered prayers to Baba Kashi Vishwanath at Baba Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Baba Kaal Bhairav at Baba Kaal Bhairav Temple .
