CM to visit Ram temple today, 'Champat Rai asked to stay away'
LUCKNOW/AYODHYA, June 19 -- Amid the ongoing SIT probe into alleged embezzlement of donation money at the Ram temple, chief minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to visit Ayodhya and offer prayers to Ram Lalla on Friday. Besides inaugurating the Ramayan Wax Museum, he will also visit Hanumangarhi.
According to sources, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai has been asked not to attend the programme.
Sources said that Rai was specifically mentioned in the administrative protocol letter issued for chief minister's visit.
As per point number 29 of the protocol letter, Champat Rai has been requested to nominate another person as his representative during the chief minister's visit to the Ram temple.
Details of the nominated representative are to be made available to the duty magistrate, the protocol letter added.
According to detailed programme issued by the Ayodhya district magistrate Shashank Tripathi, trust general secretary Champat Rai has been asked to nominate any person who will arrange the 'darshan pujan' for the chief minister.
Earlier in the day, the chief minister will unveil the statue of Jhalkaribai in Rudauli block and thereafter leave for Gonda.
On the way back, the CM will reach Ayodhya again around 3pm when he will visit Hanuman Garhi and Ram temple.
Sources also claimed that a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) may be appointed for the Ram temple administration, similar to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The proposed step aims to bring more transparency in donations, accounting procedures, and administrative management. According to reports, discussions are ongoing between the government and the temple trust before a final decision is taken. htc...
