CM reviews law & order ahead of festivals, exams
LUCKNOW, Feb. 12 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reviewed statewide law and order arrangements ahead of Holi, Mahashivratri, Ramzan, Board examinations and the upcoming Census, directing strict action against any attempt to disturb peace.
At a high-level meeting with senior officials, he ordered enhanced vigilance during Holi (March 2-4), adherence to designated sites for Holika Dahan, and close monitoring of social media to prevent rumours.
For Mahashivratri (February 14-15), he directed comprehensive security and crowd management at major temples, safety of Kanwar pilgrims, streamlined traffic and parking arrangements, women's security, and round-the-clock deployment of disaster response teams.
The CM called for long-term solutions to traffic congestion, strict enforcement of noise norms including a ban on loud recorded music after 10 pm, action against beggars near religious places with rehabilitation measures, and improved emergency response services.
He also directed that UP Board exams from February 18 be conducted without malpractice, stressed coordination to maintain harmony during Ramzan and Eid, and asked officials to complete preparations for Basant Navratri, Ram Navami and the first phase of the Census in a timely manner....
