Lucknow, June 4 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has carried out a reshuffle of the districts assigned to his cabinet colleagues as ministers-in-charge following the recent expansion of his ministry, which saw the induction of six new ministers (two Cabinet ministers and four Ministers of State) and the elevation of two ministerial colleagues to Cabinet rank. No changes, however, have been made to the districts allocated to some senior ministers. Newly inducted Cabinet minister Bhupendra Chaudhary has been appointed minister-in-charge of Kasganj and Agra. Both districts are in western UP, and Agra has a considerable Jat population. Another newly inducted Cabinet minister, Manoj Pandey, has been appointed minister-in-charge of Sitapur, which has a sizeable Brahmin population. Pandey is an MLA from Unchahar in Rae Bareli. Rakesh Sachan will be in charge of Rae Bareli and Kannauj, while Om Prakash Rajbhar has been made minister-in-charge of Ambedkar Nagar. Minister of State (Independent Charge) Asim Arun has been made in charge of Hardoi and Meerut. Minister of State Surendra Diler, a Valmiki leader, has been made in charge of Bulandshahr, which has a considerable Dalit population. Kailash Rajput has been made in charge of Etah, which has a sizeable Lodh Rajput population.
