LUCKNOW, March 29 -- A 17-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide, leaving her family shattered on late Friday night in Hasanganj police station limits, police said on Saturday. According to police and family members, the teenager, a student of Class 11, had an argument with her mother earlier in the day and was scolded over an unspecified issue. Upset, she withdrew into her room and stopped responding. As the hours passed and she did not come out, concern grew. Her father eventually went to check on her, only to find the door closed from inside. When he entered, he found her body hanging. Family members and neighbours rushed in as cries for help filled the house. She was brought down and taken to Balrampur Hospital in a desperate attempt to save her.
